Artist’s Statement:
Gretchen A. Boyer’s creations evolve out of a
need and desire to express spiritual healing
through inspirational natural expression.
The works of art are primarily two-dimensional completed
in a variety of media ranging from handmade paper,
fiber and paint. The artwork is nonrepresentational
and leads the viewer into the world of emotional
response and imagination.
Every piece is an original work and will not be repeated.
The artist’s formal training includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts
from Michigan State University with an emphasis
in painting and drawing. Her painting expanded
into fiber and mixed media. This led her into
exploring and developing expressions in weaving,
felting and later into handmade paper relief
sculpture. Her latest series is the creation of mixed
media featuring spiritual inspirational thoughts.
She also holds an MA in Art Education and a
Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous
galleries and is represented in private collections
